The Eagles announced that they have signed wide receiver Freddie Swain ahead of Thursday's preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts. There was an open roster spot following the retirement of linebacker Myles Jack.

Swain was most recently with the Miami Dolphins after signing with them as a free agent in March. He was waived with an injury designation on August 13.

The 6-foot, 197-pound Swain spent most of last season on Miami's practice squad and was elevated for one game before signing with the Broncos, where he caught four passes for 74 yards in three games (one start).

A former sixth-round pick of the Seahawks out of Florida in 2020, Swain has 42 career catches for 576 yards and six touchdowns in 37 games (10 starts).

Eagles Offensive Coordinator Brian Johnson was a part of Flordia's coaching staff when Swain was in college.
