On Saturday, Zach Ertz said that he had family coming out to Chicago for the Monday Night Football matchup against the Bears.
His family will get to see No. 86 on the field.
The Eagles announced on Monday that they have elevated the veteran tight end along with linebacker Chance Campbell from the practice squad for the prime-time showdown.
Ertz was signed to the Eagles' practice squad on Tuesday and practiced for the first time on Thursday. Ertz was a free agent this offseason after suffering a season-ending knee injury in December while playing with Washington.
"My body feels good," Ertz said after Saturday's practice. "Obviously, a little rusty. Haven't played football in nine and a half months. For me to get out there has been a blessing. It's a blessing to be in this building again. It's been fun. Body feels solid. Now it's up to the coaches to see how the week went."
The coaches liked what they saw. With Dallas Goedert (knee) out, the Eagles have Ertz, Johnny Mundt, and E.J. Jenkins available at tight end.
Campbell is set to make his Eagles debut Monday night. He spent all of 2025 and the early portion of 2026 on the team's practice squad. A sixth-round pick of the Titans in 2022, Campbell played in four games for Tennessee during the 2023 season.
