Eagles vs. Chiefs: Super Bowl rematch is set for Monday, November 20

Eagles vs. Chiefs

As a third appetizer to the 17-course meal that is the Eagles’ regular season in 2023, it's time to talk about a big one.

Oh, of course every game carries the same amount of weight in an NFL regular season – they are all extremely important, understood – but this one is another in a nationally televised slot and happens to be the first one for the Eagles that we know about that will happen in prime time.

Eagles at Chiefs on Monday, November 20, 8:15 PM. Get your popcorn ready.

It is a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, in which the Chiefs won 37-34 at State Farm Stadium in Arizona on February 12. And it is a game that involves two teams with aspirations to meet in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas a few short months after playing in the regular season.

This one needs very little hype because we all know just how good the Chiefs are and what they bring to the table. It all, of course, starts with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who played through an ankle injury in the Super Bowl to win game Most Valuable Player honors for leading Kansas City from a 10-point halftime deficit to the victory. Kansas City's offense is versatile and potent, relying on Mahomes and his leading receiver, tight end Travis Kelce, along with a great offensive line and a variety of weapons.

Philadelphia and the Chiefs match up extremely well and both teams have had strong offseasons, and that's why the NFL wants to position this game at the start of the holiday season – the Monday before Thanksgiving. This will be one of the most-watched prime-time games with two high-scoring teams aiming to play for a third time in the span of a calendar year. First things first, though: The Eagles have a tough task playing in Arrowhead Stadium late in the season against the defending Super Bowl Champions.

The anticipation is tantalizing.

So, what we know about the Eagles' 2023 regular season is this: They play at Kansas City on November 20 in a Monday Night Football showcase game. They host San Francisco on Sunday, December 3 at Lincoln Financial Field in a 4:25 PM kickoff. And they host the New York Giants on Monday, December 25 (Christmas Day) at 4:30 PM. That is shaping up to be one heck of a stretch run as the Eagles face three playoff (and beyond) caliber teams in the stretch run of the season.

The entire 2023 Eagles' regular season schedule will be released tonight at 8 PM.
