Defensive tackle Victor Abiamiri was placed on the Injured Reserve list Thursday after head coach Andy Reid confirmed that the former second-round pick had suffered a torn Achilles tendon.
Abiamiri missed all of last season while recovering from an offseason knee operation. After spending his first four seasons as a defensive end, Abiamiri worked in as a defensive tackle during camp before suffering the injury.
The Eagles also announced that defensive end Ricky Sapp was placed on the Reserve/Left Squad list.
With room on the roster, the Eagles signed two rookie free agent defensive tackles in Charles Noonan out of Rutgers and Brandon Collier formerly of Massachusetts. The team also officially announced that veteran defensive tackles Anthony Hargrove and Derek Landri signed their one-year deals. Hargrove and Landri will be allowed to practice with the rest of the free agents Friday.
Lastly, the Eagles released rookie free agent wide receiver Jeremy LaFrance.
