"Concrete Charley" played in 253 games during his illustrious 14-year career. He also played in a team record 8 Pro Bowls. Although the Eagles won the NFL championship in 1949, his rookie year, his star shined brightest in 1960 when he played every minute at both center and linebacker during the NFL Championship victory over Green Bay. Born May 1, 1925, in Bethlehem, PA, he was an All-America selection at Pennsylvania in 1948 before being selected with the first overall draft choice by the Eagles in 1949.

1949: Bednarik started seven games for the Eagles that year, playing primarily at center. He helped the Eagles win the NFL Championship.

1950: Bednarik played both center and linebacker this season, earning first-team All-Pro honors.

1951: Bednarik was an All-Pro once again and had two fumble recoveries in 12 games.

1952: Bednarik had two interceptions and one forced fumble.

1953: Posting a career-high six interceptions, Bednarik returned one for a touchdown and had 116 interception return yards.

1954: Bednarik was a first-team All-Pro for the fifth consecutive season and played on both sides of the ball.

1955: Bednarik had one interception and was named second-team All-Pro.

1956: With two interceptions and two fumble recoveries, Bednarik earned second-team All-Pro honors.

1957: In 11 games, Bednarik had three interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

1958: Bednarik played primarily at center, starting all 12 games.

1959: Bednarik again played mostly center and didn't miss a game.

1960: Bednarik helped the Eagles win the NFL Championship as he earned first-team All-Pro recognition.

1961: Playing in 14 games, Bednarik had two interceptions and also played center.

1962: In his final season in the NFL, Bednarik played all 14 games.
