Mike Maccagnan, who is in his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles, was hired as a
personnel executive during the 2026 offseason. A scouting veteran with more than 25 years of
NFL experience, Maccagnan joins the team after serving as general manager of the New York
Jets from 2015-19.

Throughout his tenure with New York, Maccagnan oversaw a roster that featured nine
players who earned Pro Bowl accolades during that span. In his first season as general
manager, he acquired seven new starters who contributed to a team that posted 10 wins, six
more than the previous season, en route to earning PFWA NFL Executive of the Year honors in
2015.

Before heading to New York, Maccagnan spent 15 seasons with the Houston Texans,
originally joining the team in 2000, shortly after the expansion franchise was awarded. He
served as director of college scouting (2011-14), assistant director of college scouting (2010)
and coordinator of college scouting (2000-09), where he played an integral role in the
construction of the first-ever Texans roster in 2002. While in Houston, Maccagnan contributed to
a roster development that saw 17 players collect a combined 36 Pro Bowl nods and nine
Associated Press All-Pro honors.

Prior to Houston, Maccagnan spent time in the Canadian Football League (CFL),
including serving as director of scouting for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1994 and
scouting director of player personnel for the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1993.

From 1990-91, Maccagnan worked within the World League of American Football as
director of player personnel for the London Monarchs (1991) and as a league scout for the
WLAF league office (1990). With the Monarchs, he contributed to a scouting department that
helped capture the 1991 World Bowl with a shut-out win over the Barcelona Dragons

Maccagnan originally began his NFL career in 1990 as a scouting intern for the
Washington Redskins assisting with training camp scouting operations.

Married to his wife, Betty, Maccagnan is a native of Hightstown, NJ, and holds a
bachelor's degree in economics from Trinity College.
