Jon Liu is in his ninth year with the Philadelphia Eagles after being promoted to director of football analytics during the 2025 offseason. He specializes in utilizing data to support all aspects of football operations.
Prior to being elevated to his current post, Liu served as the assistant director of football analytics from 2022-25. During that three-year window, Philadelphia advanced to Super Bowl LVII and won Super Bowl LIX.
Liu spent the 2022 campaign as a football analytics coordinator after working as a football operations analyst (2018-22). He began his career as a football analytics intern with the Eagles while completing coursework at the University of Pennsylvania in 2017, when the club won Super Bowl LII.
Before entering the NFL, Liu was a summer intern with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2016-17), working directly under team owner Dan Gilbert.
A native of Bala Cynwyd, PA, Liu prepped at Lower Merion High School before attending Penn, where he studied economics and statistics. While at Penn, Liu was part of a staff that helped implement analytics in the men's basketball program's on-court strategy. Since then, the Penn Sports Analytics Group has grown to over 100 members.
