James Gilman is in his ninth year with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was promoted to senior director of football research and strategy in 2025.

Since joining the analytics team within the football operations department, Gilman has focused on quantitative research and providing statistical insight. Prior to being elevated to his current post, he served as director of football analytics (2022-25), assistant director of football analytics (2021-22), senior quantitative analyst (2020-21) and quantitative analyst (2019-20). He was originally hired as a quantitative research intern in 2018.

Gilman grew up in Raleigh, NC, and attended North Carolina State, where he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in statistics.
