Biography
Ben Ijalana enters his third year with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was promoted to Northeast Area scout during the 2023 offseason after originally joining the organization as a scouting assistant in 2022.
Ijalana first entered the NFL scouting ranks as a scouting intern with the New England Patriots in August 2021. Later that year, he went on to volunteer at his alma mater, Villanova University.
A former offensive tackle, Ijalana was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round (49th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. He enjoyed a nine-year career that included stints with the Colts (2011-12), New York Jets (2013-18), and Jacksonville Jaguars (2019).
Ijalana played collegiately at Villanova, where he was a four-year letterwinner at offensive tackle. He was named a three-time All-CAA selection (2008, '09,'10) and two-time All-American (2009, '10). He started every game of his Wildcat career and was a member of Villanova's FCS National Championship team in 2009.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ, Ijalana moved to Hainesport, NJ, during high school and became an all-county lineman and district champion wrestler at Rancocas Valley.
Ijalana received his master's degree in business administration from Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2021.
