Josh Grizzard was hired by the Philadelphia Eagles as the club's offensive passing game coordinator during the 2026 offseason.
Before joining the Eagles, Grizzard spent two years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the offensive coordinator (2025) and pass game coordinator (2024). During that stretch, he assisted Baker Mayfield to the second-most passing touchdowns (67) and fourth-most passing yards (8,193) in the NFL, while the Buccaneers ranked seventh in passing offense (228.1 ypg).
In 2025, Grizzard coordinated an offense that saw Mayfield finish seventh in the league in touchdown passes (27, tied). He also developed rookie wideout Emeka Egbuka, who led the Buccaneers with 938 yards (second among NFL rookies) and six touchdowns on 63 catches (14.9 avg.).
Grizzard oversaw a passing attack that posted the third-most passing yards per game (250.4) in the NFL in 2024. Mayfield, who earned his second career Pro Bowl selection, ranked second overall in touchdown passes (41) and completions (407, tied), third in passing yards (4,500) and completion percentage (71.4 pct.) and fourth in passer rating (106.8) — all career highs. Furthermore, wide receiver Mike Evans led Tampa Bay's offense with 74 receptions for 1,004 yards (13.6 avg.) and 11 touchdowns in 14 games.
Grizzard began his NFL coaching career with the Miami Dolphins, where he served as a quality control coach (2017-19, '22-23) and wide receivers coach (2020-21). He contributed to a staff that produced four consecutive winning seasons — the Dolphins' longest streak since 1997-2003.
In 2023, Grizzard contributed to a unit that ranked first in the NFL in yards per game (401.3), passing yards per game (265.5) and yards per carry (5.1) and second in yards per play (6.5), net yards per pass attempt (8.0) and points per game (29.2). With Grizzard's support in 2022, Miami finished as a top 10 total offense (sixth, 364.5 ypg) for the first time since 1995.
During his time as the Dolphins' wide receivers coach (2020-21), Grizzard played a key role in the growth of Jaylen Waddle, who Miami selected with the sixth-overall choice in 2021. Waddle set a then-NFL rookie record with 104 receptions for a club-rookie-record 1,015 receiving yards.
As a quality control coach in 2019, Grizzard worked closely with wide receiver DeVante Parker, who produced career highs in catches (72), yards (1,202 — most by an AFC wide receiver) and touchdowns (nine).
Grizzard spent four seasons at Duke (2013-16) as a graduate assistant/quality control coach working primarily with the quarterbacks. He was a part of the program's then-best three-year stretch in history (2013-15) with 27 total wins, an ACC Coastal Division title and three consecutive bowl game appearances. During the 2016 campaign, Grizzard helped lead Daniel Jones to the sixth-most total yards per game (276.8) in the conference.
A native of Zebulon, NC, Grizzard played defensive back for four seasons at Yale (2008-11) before transitioning to a student coaching assistant role in 2012. He graduated from Yale with a degree in political science and received a master's degree in Christian studies from Duke.
