Game Vs. Redskins: S Kurt Coleman

On his big game: "I like that we keep winning, and that is the most important thing but it is something special to have my career interception and now three in a game, so it's been a blessing to come down to Washington."

On his interceptions of Rex Grossman: "On the first one they just tried to stretch us out, I was reading Rex, and I had a feeling that he would try to hit the tight end Fred Davis because he is such a talented tight end. And so I was sort of cheating in that way and once I saw that, I had to go up and make the play. The other ones were just instincts. I just felt like Rex was going to throw and I just continued breaking on the ball."

On if he was surprised by decisions made by Grossman: "No, it's just one of those things as defensive back, you hope the quarterback throws your direction, you never know if he's going to."

On taking a big step as a defense: "This isn't just me standing here as a defense, this is on behalf of the team defense. I really felt like everyone was doing their job. We stop the run, which we hadn't been able to do all year. I think that's what really pushed them to throw the ball. This allowed me, Nate Allen and the defensive line to get sacks. That's what really makes the biggest difference, stopping the run."

On if he was surprised the Redskins took so many shots downfield: "No, because I think they love to throw deep passes on play action and they like to make mismatches. The first one they thought they had a mismatch with Fred Davis, but like I said I was cheating that way and started to read the quarterback on the throw."

On how tough was it being taken out the starting lineup and how good it felt to be back in: "It is tough, I'm a competitor and I know what I am capable of doing out there but the first three games I wasn't getting it done and that was apparent. And I think it was a humbling experience. God taught me a lesson and I just worked my butt of the last couple, so now I have the opportunity to make the best of it."

On playing well after being pulled from starting lineup: "No, I was playing my game but I just felt like I wasn't doing enough. So I stopped the run today along with the defensive line and I was able to get back a make the plays that I have been in my whole career."

On tightening up the run defense a little bit: "Our emphasis this whole week was to stop the run. We realized that we were thirtieth in the national league in stopping the run. And everybody put an emphasis on doing their part, stopping the run and making plays. I thought we tackled very well today and limited the runs. I don't think the Redskins had any big runs today."

On the heat Juan Castillo took: "Juan is a great coach, he really is, and he puts his heart and soul into the game every single week. I wish you guys could see what he does in the background. He really cares about us and he wants nothing but the best. He really tries to put us in the best position. It's unfortunate that the first couple weeks it hasn't gone our way. But now as you can see, when things start to click, we start to roll and in check."

On if his three interceptions have set in: "I really don't get into that. I just go out there and have fun. I thank the Lord that I was able to make the plays. But my goal is to have three interceptions every game. I want to continue to build on that. This team needs to build on this and continue to get better and better. We will take this one game at a time. We know we have a long road to go but if we continue to play like we did today, things will start rolling our way."

On safety combinations: "We want a consistent flow, but when you have a new defense, we have to try to find the right fits for our safeties and right schemes on how we want to play things. Hopefully, Nate Allen and I are the right combination. We have a very good relationship on and off the field."

On if the cornerbacks played a little more man coverage today: "Not really, we just ran a lot of things we have been running all week; we actually played a tighter coverage. We expected our cornerbacks to just have regular coverage on deep balls."

On if extra film helped him discover his interception opportunities: "I did spend more time in the film room because it needed to be right. And we needed to put in the extra work."
