Game Vs. Raiders: Post-Game Quotes

Here is a sampling of post-game quotes from Sunday's game in Oakland:

HEAD COACH ANDY REID

On the game: "Raiders out-coached us and they outplayed us in every phase of the game. Hats off to them, they did a heck of a job and we didn't. And it hurts. We didn't do a better enough job and they did."

On the play of the Raiders defense: "They did a great job with it. They were able to get after our quarterback and we had opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of opportunities. They did a nice job of it. All the way around, I thought they did a nice job. I thought they blocked better, tackled better, they blitzed better, coached better, and number one they just coached better. They did a heck of a job with getting this team ready to play. My hats off to the Raiders. They were better than us today; they are a better football team than us."

QB DONOVAN McNABB

On the play of the Raiders defense: "We weren't able to capitalize on the opportunities. Tip your hat off to them for the package they came up with, the scheme this week. We weren't able to answer the question and pick up the blitz. I think there were opportunities in the game that we didn't capitalize on, but I thought they took full advantage of those sacks and those penalties."

On his second week of action following injury: "I was more or less just trying to get the feet up under and get this offense going. They knocked us out of the rhythm and credit them for their scheme this week."

On the loss: "I can speak for myself and should speak for everybody about the way we came out here and played. We are a much better football team. I've always said that for the young team that we have, that we have to take baby steps. There will be a point in time that we hit a wall and we didn't expect to hit the wall today. This is a learning experience and one that, for myself and as well as the veterans, we have to lead these younger guys to understand there will be times in the season that things don't go well."

RB BRIAN WESTBROOK

On the offense: "We are better than that. We didn't go out today and execute our offense at all. We had a couple drives that we weren't able to put the ball in the end zone. We are a lot better team than we played like today. We are better than three field goals and no touchdowns."

On running the ball: "You never know. In hindsight, we would want to run the ball a whole lot more. You would want to control the clock a whole lot more. We've had a lot of success throwing the ball in these first four games, so it's hard to go away from that. I think that looking at it we had some success running the ball. Hopefully we will have more success."

WR DeSEAN JACKSON

On Oakland's DBs: "You know they came and played and did a good job. They rolled a safety to my side of the field to cover me and left Jeremy (Maclin) with a lot of one-on-one coverage, and just wasn't able to connect. It's a tough loss. It is definitely unacceptable. We felt like we were the better team and we didn't play like it today."

OT WINSTON JUSTICE

On Oakland's blitzes: "They did some stuff that they really didn't show the last few games and we were surprised, but that is what practices are for. We will go back to the drawing board and get better for the rest of the year."
