Game Vs. Bears: Head Coach Lovie Smith

Opening Statement: "It's good to come in front of (the media) on a win like that. Last couple of weeks we haven't been able to finish the football game. (We) talked a lot about it last week and went back to work. I thought we corrected some things so it was good to get that win in the end. A lot of guys stepped up. Offensively we moved the ball. With the pass we did some good things scoring some points. You can't turn the ball over like that but I thought we definitely did enough to win the football game. There are some things we have to tighten up. Defensively, I really thought the guys stepped up. We talk a lot about taking the ball away and after we turned the ball over a few times, the defense met the challenge each time. So that was big. Special teams was good getting (Devin) Hester back. Our coverage units did a good job. So, (it was) just a good team effort beating a good Philadelphia Eagles team."

On the goal line stand in the fourth quarter: "It wasn't looking good when you're backed up like that. Our guys just fought. They continued to do that all night after we had a few turnovers. They didn't talk about it, they just went back out. It's the defense's job to go out there and stop them. They drove down there on their own, but play after play it's good to see (the defense make plays).

On Kyle Orton's play versus the Eagles: "It's a good step, good step for our team as much as anything. (There's a) big difference, of course, between 1-3 and 2-2. We wanted to finish off this first quarter on a high before we go on the road. For Kyle (Orton) to fight back - a couple things went against us - but not just Kyle, the entire offense kept hanging in there too."

On the play of the Eagles defense: "We pretty much ran our offense. We knew they were going to come with a lot pressure. We tried to protect the quarterback and keep a few extra guys in from time-to-time but for the most part we kind of went with what we thought we'd be successful with."

On the finishes of the last few games and corrections made: "If you look at the last couple of games where we lost football games, there were a couple of key plays at the end. Different guys had a chance to make plays. As much as anything I just talked to the team about: a lot of football left to go, we're a good team, we haven't made some plays in a critical situation. This past week I thought we had an excellent week of practice. Hopefully have the same next week and we still have a long ways to go. We still have a lot of things to correct but we like correcting them on a 2-2 record."
