MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Acquired in a trade with Seattle last week, Ugo Amadi played in the preseason game in Cleveland after two days of joint practices, flew to Florida with the Eagles on Tuesday, and was traded after Wednesday's practice to the Tennessee Titans. The full scope of the deal is this: The Eagles sent Amadi, a defensive back, to the Titans along with a 2024 draft pick and received a 2024 draft pick in exchange.

It's a crazy business, this NFL, and this deal – or series of deals – illustrates the brisk order of personnel shuffling – as teams must reduce their rosters to 53 by Tuesday at 4 PM. The Eagles stand at 79 players after dealing Amadi, who came to Philadelphia on August 15 when the Eagles traded tight end (formerly wide receiver) J.J. Arcega-Whiteside to the Seahawks.

Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman, a master at maximizing value, then turned Amadi into an asset after a quick evaluation of how he would fit into this defense, and as a result, the Eagles moved up in the 2024 draft by dealing Amadi to Tennessee.

Stay tuned. It's that time of the year in the NFL when anything can, and usually does, happen.
