Free agency begins on March 11. The 2026 NFL Draft is on the clock on April 23. Things move quickly in this league, so if you are wondering exactly what is happening within the walls of the NovaCare Complex, here is an explanation: Monday was the day when players took their exit physicals and met with their position coaches, heard from Head Coach Nick Sirianni in a team meeting, and cleaned out their lockers.
Now it's time off for the players to rehab their bodies, refresh their minds, and rejuvenate after a long run of physical football.
But it's time for the front office and coaching staff to cross the T's and dot the I's from the 2025 season that ended on Sunday in the NFC's Wild Card Weekend. The Eagles are done for '25, but they know they have an opportunity to jump right back into the game for 2026 and beyond with a strong offseason. They know they are going to end up with as many as nine draft picks once the NFL awards its compensatory selections, and they know that four of those picks will fall within the top 100 spots, and that six of them are within the top four rounds of the Draft.
They know that there is never a time to be complacent and instead the proper approach is to continue to grow and evolve.
"There's a lot of things that we can learn from this year. I just have the utmost confidence in the leadership here, the guys, the team, the players, the coaches, from top to bottom, that we will get the thing back on track, and it just sucks that we've got to wait a little longer," running back Saquon Barkley said. "But that's part of the nature of this business, there's only one team that wins, and there's going to be 31 losers. So, we'll move on, and you've got to get better."âŻ
"I love this team. I love this program. They gave me an opportunity," defensive tackle Jordan Davis said. "They believed in me when nobody did. And I felt like it was my duty to be the best player I could be. And I'm still focusing on growth. This is not the best that I have been. This is not the best that I can be. So, I'm always scratching. I'm always clawing for that. The ceiling is the only thing that you can place upon yourself. If you feel like you have no ceilings, then you have no ceilings."
There is a lot of work to do, and some of that has already been underway for weeks. Models for free agency are built. Talent evaluation for how to improve the roster, particularly the NFL Draft, has been ongoing.
Where are the areas to improve? At the end of the day, no matter how much the outside world wants to pinpoint specifics, an NFL team wants to improve every part of the roster and that is always happening.
As disappointed as we all are that the 2025 campaign is over, the sense of anticipation and excitement will soon grow for the future â both near and far. The Eagles are going to hit this offseason intensely, aggressively, intelligently, and all with the purpose of another World Championship run. They were the NFC Champs in 2022, then lost in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs in 2023 and then won the Super Bowl in 2024 and lost in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs in 2025.
In 2026? The goal is very clear.
"I want to come back and keep bringing championships back to Philly," left tackle Jordan Mailata said.
So here we are: 2025 is a wrap. On to 2026 the Eagles go, stinging with the taste of how it ended in 2025 and confident that an offseason of the best decisions and the aligned vision for the future will bring out the best for this football team when it all starts up again in September.
