The celebration of Donovan McNabb's great career as an Eagle takes place this week with a variety of events planned to include former teammates and Eagles fans. McNabb, who will have his No. 5 jersey number retired and who will be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Thursday night at halftime of the game against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs, holds virtually every significant passing record in franchise history.

His impact on the Eagles was profound from the time the team made him the second overall selection in the 1999 NFL draft. The team's fortunes turned around in a short time as McNabb led the way with his steady hand and big-play ability at the quarterback position.

This week is time to look back on a great career. The Eagles have some great things planned for McNabb.

  • On Wednesday, 250 fans comprised of season-ticket members, club members and premium guests will enjoy an Insider event at the Touchdown Club at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles had their first Insider event in April featuring general manager Howie Roseman and defensive end Fletcher Cox at the NovaCare Complex, and Wednesday's event brings McNabb together with former teammates tight end Chad Lewis, center Jamaal Jackson and linebacker Ike Reese in conversation about McNabb's career with the Eagles. Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro hosts the event at Lincoln Financial Field's Touchdown Club.
  • On Thursday, 150 invited season-ticket members will attend a webcast with McNabb and host Dave Spadaro at the NovaCare Complex. Guests will arrive at the NovaCare Complex and take a tour prior to the webcast in the auditorium. The webcast will be broadcast on PhiladelphiaEagles.com and throughout the team's digital channels at 4:30 p.m.
  • McNabb's career is featured in many of the pre-game television and radio broadcasts on Thursday as the coverage of the Chiefs-Eagles game begins hours three before kickoff.
  • The official retirement ceremony takes place at halftime of Thursday's game. Former Eagles safety Brian Dawkins, who last September had his jersey No. 20 retired as he was also inducted into the team's Hall of Fame, serves as the emcee for the event from Lincoln Financial Field. You can watch the entire ceremony live and on demand at PhiladelphiaEagles.com and the team's official App.
