The Eagles made the following roster moves on Saturday before their final home game of the regular season.

Activated CB Avonte Maddox from Injured Reserve to the active roster

The Eagles added cornerback Avonte Maddox to the 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's Week 17 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Maddox was placed on the Injured Reserve list after leaving the Week 2 win over the Minnesota Vikings with a pectoral injury. He has been a full participant at practice since his 21-day practice window opened on December 21.

"I feel like it's been forever, but I've worked hard to get here and I'm ready to go," Maddox said. "I attacked (the rehab) and made sure I did the best I could inside the training room so I could get back on the field."

It was during the middle of the season when the veteran knew he had a chance to come back for the stretch run of the season and playoffs.

In his 84 defensive snaps before getting hurt, Maddox made eight tackles, had two pass defenses, and forced a fumble.

In his six-year career, Maddox has recorded 241 tackles, 31 pass defenses, eight forced fumbles, and four interceptions.

"It's great to have Avonte back out there working, looking good," Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni said. "Again, just always love the energy that Avonte brings to practice."

Placed TE Albert Okwuegbunam on Injured Reserve

The Eagles placed tight end Albert Okwuegbunam on Injured Reserve to make room for Maddox. Okwuegbunam was added to the injury report as a limited participant in Friday's practice due to a hamstring injury.

Okwuegbunam was acquired via a trade with the Denver Broncos on August 29 for a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Eagles also acquired a 2025 seventh-round pick in the deal.

The fourth-year tight end played in four games with the Eagles, playing 57 snaps on offense. Okwuegbunam did not have a reception and was inactive for most of the season.

Elevated LB Brandon Smith from the practice squad for Sunday's game

The Eagles elevated Brandon Smith for the second game in a row. The second-year linebacker out of Penn State made his Eagles debut in the win over the Giants on Christmas and contributed a tackle on special teams. Smith will add depth at the linebacker position and on special teams, especially if Zach Cunningham (knee, doubtful) is unable to play.

Cunningham and Okwuegbunam were both downgraded earlier on Saturday.
