With obesity rates in children nearly tripling since 1963, maintaining a healthy lifestyle at an early age is more important now than ever.

According to the American Heart Association, a nutritional diet and daily exercise in young people reduced the risk of heart disease.

The participating schools were Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary, Paul Robeson Charter, Smithville Elementary, Stoy Elementary, and William M. Meredith School.

The students all competed in a variety of football drills in an effort to foster an active lifestyle.

They all cheered each other on throughout the fun day!

And of course, the kids all got autographs when they were done the on-field activities.

Everyone had a blast at the PLAY 60 Field Day Challenge.
