Tuesday's News And Notes

Today's Attendance: 8,241

Lehigh Valley is a Popular Destination for Eagles Fans: 8,241 fans attended today's practice sessions at Lehigh University on Fan Appreciation Day with the first 7,500 receiving a free Eagles magnet schedule. Overall, attendance at training camp this year increased by 35% in terms of daily average attendance from a year ago (6,442 in 13 days in 2009 vs. 4,765 in 18 days in 2008). These numbers do not include the 31,786 fans who attended Eagles Flight Night at Lincoln Financial Field on August 2nd. In addition, the Eagles reported a 40% increase in average daily merchandise sales at training camp.

A Legend Returns

Former Eagles head coach Dick Vermeil stopped by the Lehigh campus this morning to take in the Eagles final full practice session before Thursday's preseason opener against the Patriots.

Deny, Deny, Deny

LB Akeem Jordan was a blanket today during a one-on-one coverage drill. On three consecutive outings, Jordan stunted the offense's production. He jammed FB Kyle Eckel at the line to sniff out a pass. Then, his aggressive defending of TE Eugene Bright forced an incompletion. And later, he out leapt TE Rob Myers to bat down a pass.

Jordan played for four years at division 1-AA James Madison University, where he won a National Championship in 2004.

"There are a lot of great players that came out of division 1-AA, and I'm glad I got the chance to make it to the NFL," said Jordan. "It's something that motivates me every day. I'm constantly trying to prove that I'm able to play at this level."
