Surgery For Gaither; Second Opinion For Curtis

Middle linebacker Omar Gaither will have surgery for a Lisfranc sprain in his foot and will "most likely" be lost for the season, according to head coach Andy Reid.

With Gaither out, newly added Will Witherspoon will step in as the starter in the middle.

Meanwhile, veteran wide receiver Kevin Curtis is getting a second opinion on his injured knee. Curtis has missed the last three games.

"The pain is not going away. That's the problem," Reid said. "We've done all the MRIs we can do. MRIs don't tell the whole story."

Defensive end Victor Abiamiri's knee sprain will likely sideline him for Monday night's game.

Along the offensive line, starting left guard Todd Herremans will see his first action of the season in Washington. Herremans is expected to practice Wednesday and Reid indicated that he will likely be in the lineup against the Redskins.

Left tackle Jason Peters, who sustained knee and ankle injuries against Oakland, participated in Wedneday morning's walk-thru and is expected to play Monday night.
