Starters Will Play Sunday Vs. Redskins

Despite a report that hinted at the possibility of LeSean McCoy sitting in the final game of the season, head coach Andy Reid said that McCoy and the rest of the starters will play in the season finale this Sunday against the Redskins.

"We're in this thing to play the best football we possibly can," Reid said on Monday.

Pro Football Talk ran an item that used a post-game quote from McCoy on Saturday and intimated the running back would rest against the Redskins.

"Montgomery, he's probably smiling right now," McCoy said. "I'll get it next year – hopefully."

McCoy was referring to Wilbert Montgomery's franchise record of 1,512 rushing yards in a single season which was set back in 1979. McCoy has 1,309 yards this season which ranks first in the NFC and second in the NFL. After Saturday's 35-yard performance in the win over Dallas, however, it would take a career day to break Montgomery's mark.

As for starters who could be sidelined due to injury, strong safety Kurt Coleman suffered a bicep strain against Dallas and will have an MRI on Tuesday. Cornerback Asante Samuel missed Saturday's game with a hamstring strain. Linebacker Brian Rolle suffered a slight ankle sprain in the Cowboys game. Defensive tackle Trevor Laws was rested Saturday due to knee tendinitis.
