Stacy Andrews On O-Line, Brother's Return

With his brother returning to the practice field Saturday, right guard Stacy Andrews sees the offensive line slowly coming together.

"I was glad to see him back out there. I know he's ready to go," Stacy said of Shawn Andrews' return. "It's going to be a great feeling to be out there making the calls with my brother, as well as the offensive line."

The Andrews brothers have yet to line up alongside one another. While Shawn worked in the post-draft mini-camp and OTAs, Stacy was limited. Stacy finally worked in with the first-team offensive line in training camp while Shawn was sidelined with his back injury.

It's doubtful one or even both linemen would play in the preseason finale against the Jets, so their debut may be hold until the regular season opener in Carolina on Sept. 13. When they do, the two will become just the third set of brothers since 1951 to play together on the same offensive line, according to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

"I'm ready for all the pieces to come together so we can get the job done," Stacy said. "I feel confident in the guys that we have. We've got hard workers, guys that are physical."

Stacy said he was pleased with his performance Thursday night, his first game in eight months and first since having ACL surgery.

"Footwork was there. Technique was there," he said. "I felt pretty good."

As for a need to play one more preseason game, Stacy said: "I'm not sure if they'll want me to at least play a few snaps in this next game. If so, I'll be ready."
