Shady Shines Brightest In Opener

In his first night under the bright lights of an NFL football game, LeSean "Shady" McCoy shined brighter than any Eagle. McCoy looked electric against the Patriots No. 1 defense, running for 55 yards on 10 carries, and catching 2 passes for 12 yards.

"I'm just trying to show them I can play," McCoy said about his performance tonight. "My supporting cast is excellent. My fullback is excellent. The line did an excellent job today. I think that helps me out a lot."

McCoy was excited to "see how it actually is to play with the ones and see the speed of the game."

"For the first game it went well," he said.

Although he was clearly ready for the speed of the NFL game, McCoy wasn't quite prepared for the shock of being on the field for the first time as an NFL player.

"I was so nervous that the first four play I didn't have my mouthpiece in," McCoy said. "It was still stuck in my helmet."

"The weirdest thing is I look over and it's Tom Brady, and I'm like 'Is that Tom Brady?'

"It was a great experience today."
