According to a report from Aaron Wilson on National Football Post, the Eagles have conducted a private workout with Texas A & M outside linebacker Nate Askew.
Measuring at 6-foot-4, 241-pounds, Askew converted from wide receiver to outside linebacker prior to his senior season with the Aggies. During his first year as a defender, Askew appeared in all 12 games for Texas A & M, recording 33 tackles. He finished second on the team with two interceptions, including a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown against Sam Houston State.
The report states that Askew has worked out with two other teams- the Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texas. He is projected by NFL.com as a late-round pick, but his athletic ability could translate to a high ceiling as an NFL player. According to Wilson, Askew runs a 4.46 40-yard dash and has also recorded a 38-inch vertical leap. Â
