Fox Sports 1 NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported on Tuesday that the Eagles have interest in adding quarterback Chase Daniel.

A former rookie free agent of the Washington Redskins in 2009, Daniel (6-0, 225 pounds) joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013 and spent the past three seasons there with Doug Pederson, who was the offensive coordinator before coming to Philadelphia to be the team's head coach this offseason.

The 29-year-old Daniel has appeared in 10 games (two starts) during his Chiefs tenure and has completed 43 of 68 pass attempts for 409 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Prior to his time in Kansas City, Daniel served as the backup to Drew Brees in New Orleans as well as the holder on special teams from 2010-12. Daniel spent his rookie season on the Saints' practice squad after being released from the Redskins.

The Missouri product was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2007, leading the Tigers to a 12-2 record and a No. 4 end-of-season ranking in the AP poll.
