Roster Moves: Eagles protect two practice squad players; release CB Trevor Williams from IR

The Eagles announced a couple of roster moves on Tuesday ahead of Thursday night's matchup with the New York Giants.

• Eagles protect defensive tackle T.Y. McGill and tackle Prince Tega Wanogho

The Eagles' two practice squad protections for this week are defensive tackle T.Y. McGill and offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho.

McGill was active for the season opener in Washington and played 16 snaps on defense. Malik Jackson has not participated in the walkthroughs thus far due to a quadricep injury, so McGill could be insurance if Jackson is unavailable.

Wanogho, a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has not been on the active roster for a regular-season game. Tackles Lane Johnson (ankle) and Jack Driscoll (ankle) might not be able to play on Thursday due to injury, so Wanogho could be the third tackle behind Jordan Mailata and Brett Toth. The good news is that Johnson would have been a limited participant if the team held a full practice on Tuesday.

• Eagles release cornerback Trevor Williams off Injured Reserve

Williams played 32 snaps on defense in the Week 3 game against the Bengals, but suffered a rib injury that landed him on the IR list.
