Rice Has "Very Slim" Chance To Play

Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice has only a "very slim" chance to play Thursday night because of the concussion he suffered last Sunday, head coach Pete Carroll told reporters Tuesday. Ben Obomanu will start if Rice is unable to play.

Rice and cornerback Byron Maxwell (illness) did not participate in Tuesday's practice.

Two key starters on defense were limited participants. Linebacker David Hawthorne incurred a knee injury in the Redskins game last Sunday. Rookie cornerback Richard Sherman was limited because of a calf injury.

Things look good for starting defensive tackle Alan Branch. He missed last Sunday's game with an ankle injury, but was a full participant on Tuesday. Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) was also a full participant on Tuesday as Carroll indicated that Jackson would do more than he's done in recent weeks in practice.
