Reports: Kelly Decision Imminent

The Eagles reportedly met with Kelly on Tuesday about the team's head coaching position before the Fighting Irish head coach was scheduled to leave the country on vacation. Reports indicate that Kelly was set to return this weekend and resume talks with the Eagles.

Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel expects "some news in 24 hours" because Notre Dame's early enrollees for next year begin arriving on campus Sunday. National Signing Day is February 6.

In his third year at Notre Dame, Kelly led the Fighting Irish to a 12-1 record and a spot in the BCS National Championship Game. Kelly was named the AFCA Coach of the Year on Tuesday. The 51-year-old Kelly has been a head coach at the college level for 22 seasons and has just one losing record.

UPDATE: Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Kelly is returning from his vacation on Saturday to attend the Walter Camp dinner in New Haven, Conn. later tonight.
