Report: Eagles To Work Out DL Lotulelei

The Eagles continue preparing for April’s draft by setting up a workout with one of this year’s top prospects.

According to Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly, the Eagles plan to hold a private workout with Utah defensive tackle Star Lotulelei. Mosher tweeted that no concrete date has been set.

Considered one of the top prospects in the draft, Lotulelei had 42 combined tackles, five sacks and three forced fumbles last season for the Utes. Lotulelei grabbed headlines during the NFL Scouting Combine when his physical uncovered a heart condition that prevented him from participating in drills. However, USA Today's Tony Pauline tweeted Tuesday that Lotulelei will participate in Utah's pro day on Wednesday.

NFL Network’s Mike Mayock has Lotulelei listed as the best 3-4 defensive end in this year's class. However, much of the Utah product's value comes in his scheme versatility. Many experts believe Lotulelei could have success as an end or nose tackle in a 3-4, or as a defensive tackle in a 4-3 scheme.
