Report: Eagles To Host Oregon LB Matthews

According to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, the Eagles are scheduled to host Oregon linebacker Casey Matthews for an official pre-draft visit on Thursday and Friday.

Projected as a middle linebacker in the NFL, the 6-1, 243-pound Matthews helped carry the Ducks to the BCS National Championship game with 79 tackles, including nine for loss, three sacks, three pass breakups and three interceptions in 13 games last season. Casey is the latest offspring in what is arguably the most dominant bloodline in NFL history. Casey is the brother of Green Bay outside linebacker Clay, son of two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Clay Jr., grandson of former 49ers defensive end Clay Sr. and nephew of Hall of Fame offensive lineman Bruce Matthews.

Also KFFL.com has reported that Nebraska strong safety DeJon Gomes will visit with the Eagles as well. The 6-0, 208-pound Gomes had three interceptions and forced a pair of fumbles last season.
