Report: Eagles In The Running For Byrd

According to Dianna Marie Russini of NBC News 4 in Washington, D.C., free agent safety Jairus Byrd has narrowed down his possible landing spot to two teams, including the Eagles.

Sources say it will be between the Eagles or The Redskins for Jairus Byrd #NFLFreeAgency — Dianna Marie Russini (@NBCdianna) March 11, 2014

Shorlty after that report surfaced, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that perhaps Washington isn't as interested as previously believed.

Would be really surprised if #Redskins were in on Jairus Byrd, from what I'm hearing. We'll see his market. Return to Bills still possible — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 11, 2014

As many outlets have stated, Byrd has connections to Chip Kelly from the time the two spent together at the University of Oregon. Byrd is considered by many to be both one of the top safeties in the NFL and one of the premier targets in this year's free agent class.

Remember, free agency officially begins in just a few hours (4 PM on Tuesday). Keep it right here on PhiladelphiaEagles.com for all of the latest news.
