Report: Eagles Check In On DL Houston

Reports of the Eagles' machinations during this negotiating window prior to the official start of free agency have slowed on Sunday, but Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly checks in with an update on versatile defensive linemen Lamarr Houston, who has played all four of his seasons with the Oakland Raiders. The 26-year-old former second-round pick has played in both a 3-4 and 4-3 defense in Oakland and is coming off a season in which he started all 16 games and registered 6.0 sacks.

According to Mosher, the Eagles have "checked in" with Houston's agent, but the likelihood is that his asking price will be a bit rich for how much the Eagles covet his services.

UPDATE (Monday Morning): Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News also reports that the Eagles are keeping tabs on Houston and that the former Raider is likely to be a popular target this week.
