Reid's Read On Westbrook's Progress

Brian Westbrook continued his rehab Monday afternoon, doing some running and agility work on the practice field with head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder.

On Tuesday, Reid offered a positive progress report on his versatile playmaking running back.

"He felt good. He came out of it and he felt good," Reid said. "I saw enough of it to know that and to see that. He feels good today."

"Rick has been with him the whole off-season, so this is the first time he's gotten him outside and done this. But he's been doing some stuff inside.

"He's in great shape right now, and he's worked his tail off this off-season. His weight's a little down and his endurance is phenomenal right now. He's stronger than an ox. He's lifting and he's doing the rehab treatment - balance, all those type of things."

Reid said Sunday that Westbrook is on track to be back on the field by mid-August.
