Reid: Harris, Gaither To Start Vs. Panthers

Head Coach Andy Reid said during his weekly radio show that Macho Harris will start at free safety and Omar Gaither will start at middle linebacker when the Eagles take the field this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers in the season opener.

A rookie, Harris was drafted in the fifth-round of the 2009 NFL Draft and has successfully transitioned from playing cornerback in college to playing safety at the professional level.

Gaither was the Eagles' starting middle linebacker in 2007 when he was the team's leading tackler. He was moved to the weakside linebacker position last season when Stewart Bradley took over in the middle.
