Patrick Added; Jean-Gilles To IR

The Eagles signed offensive tackle Chris Patrick from the practice squad and placed guard Max Jean-Gilles on the Injured Reserve list with a broken fibula. The team also signed guard Tala Esera to the practice squad.

The 6-4, 280-pound Patrick spent the 2008 preseason with San Francisco and Detroit. He originally signed with the New York Giants as a rookie free agent in 2007, but was released and claimed by New England that summer before landing on Green Bay's practice squad. A native of Ithaca, MI, he played collegiately at Nebraska. He joined the Eagles practice squad on Sept. 1.

Esera (6-3, 315) joined the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2007 and spent his entire rookie campaign on the Dolphins practice squad. He spent the 2008 preseason with the Indianapolis Colts. A native of Honolulu, HI, Esera started 35 games at the University of Hawaii.
