OT Bruce Campbell Scouting Report

OT Bruce Campbell, Maryland
Pos. Rank: 3 Grade: 1st Round Height: 6-6 1/2 Weight: 314 40: 4.75 Year: 3-Jr.

The Good: Tall, athletic blind-side tackle prospect with tremendous upside. Bends his knees, gets leverage on opponents and stays square. Makes effective use of his hands, blocks with a nasty attitude, and always working to finish off opponents. Displays the ability to slide laterally and possesses terrific footwork off the edge. Easily controls defenders once gets his hands on them. Fluid out to the second level, effectively adjusts to defenders and can hit moving targets. Good jolt and punch at the point of attack and throws opponents to the ground. Uses his frame to seal defenders from the action.

The Bad: Not a dominant drive-blocking lineman. Never started a complete season at Maryland. Does not always play up to his level of ability.

The Verdict: Campbell is a tremendous athlete developing into a very good football player. He made major strides in his game over the past two seasons and offers incredible potential moving forward. Campbell must fill out his frame and get stronger, yet he is already a terrific pass protector who should only improve as a run blocker in time. Offers starting potential at the next level, and he could be playing with the first-team by the end of his rookie season.
