Global superstars One Direction announced this morning that they will perform at Lincoln Financial Field on Wednesday, August 13th as part of their WHERE WE ARE 2014 stadium tour.
Lincoln Financial Field has played host to 13 sold out concerts since opening in 2003, including: Bruce Springsteen (three shows in 2003), Kenny Chesney (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013), U2 (2011) and Taylor Swift (2011, two shows in 2013).
One Direction recently took home two awards from the 2013 American Music Awards including Best Pop/Rock Album and Best Pop/Rock Group and released their third studio album MIDNIGHT MEMORIES which immediately shot to #1 in 97 countries around the world. The 21-city tour, promoted by Live Nation and presented by Nabisco, kicks off on August 1.
