Offensive Coordinator Marty Mornhinweg

Opening Comments: "Alright, with that last ballgame there, we all have to do better there. Top to bottom, it's very simple. I've been through a select few of those and they are tough to go through. With the hard work, preparation, learning from mistakes, we've got to get better with that. With this next ball game, we have a tremendous opportunity. We're going against quite possibly the best pass rushers in the league, so our front, tight ends, and backs will have quite a challenge as well as a great opportunity. They have an excellent defense along with an excellent scheme."

On why they didn't go to RB LeSean McCoy more against the Cardinals: "He had 14 touches, so yeah we surely could have. They were playing us with a bunch of one-on-ones and there were plenty of opportunities there. I don't want to act a little defensive or anything, but yeah we had some possibilities there. We could have gone to him a couple more times. Really, the fourth quarter was the part that I went through just a little bit, and we got the ball out of there and were backed up, so we got the ball out of there with some passes. Then, there was a second-and-eight, we could have done that, and then we got the ball down there and ran the ball two out of three times and then kicked the field goal if you remember. There wasn't quite as many opportunities there. Then, we fell behind in the two minutes."

On whether he is optimistic that QB Michael Vick will play on Sunday: "Yeah, he's a tough man and I'm always optimistic with him. He's doing everything possible to get ready for the next game both in the training room as well as in the classroom."

On whether Vick will practice today: "This afternoon, I don't know that. Mike is day-to-day, so we'll see how he feels. I talked to him briefly a few minutes ago but it wasn't about that, it was about his preparation."

On how much progress QB Vince Young has made from the beginning of the season: "In leaps and bounds. He came in without any type of offseason at all and with a little bit shorter camp. He's been working hard both on and off the field and in the classroom. (Quarterbacks coach) Doug Pederson has been doing a great job and has great confidence in Vince. I think he'll play well."

On whether Vick could go all week without practicing and actually play: "Sure, yeah. We've had many quarterbacks do that in the past."

On why Arizona QB Kevin Kolb was able to predict the Eagles plays from the sidelines: "Yeah, that's a story you know to anticipate. An ex-player who is on another ballclub and he's injured and wants so badly to be a part of a win. In the two-minute, if I remember correctly, we only called two plays on the line. We completed the third-down and then dropped a big one. We anticipate those kind of things. We do a pretty good job of self-scout and they saw very little of anything that they saw before as far as formations, motions, and shifts."

On whether that was a factor at all: "It wasn't. It's clear on film. Also, I think that sort of stuff is overrated. You put yourself in that corner position and some guy on the sidelines is yelling out at you something. You just have to trust yourself and your reads and everything. That's overblown a little bit, and I did go back through that. You know where you have to be careful is where a team locks you down and doesn't say anything. That's where you have to be careful with a guy that talks. I did check that and there was absolutely no effect."

On whether G Evan Mathis will play this week: "There's a good possibility. He's done everything possible in the last 10 days or so to get himself ready for this ballgame."

On whether the offense works best when McCoy is more involved: "We tried to do that just a little bit. We've had big games every which way, and he's one of the dynamic players that we like to get the ball. I think we're alright there."

On WR Jeremy Maclin's status: "He didn't do anything in the walkthrough, but he is another player who is doing everything possible. He's typically, in past history, been a quick healer. So we'll see on him as well."

On who will fill in if Maclin is unable to play: "(WR) Riley Cooper has taken all the reps there. We'll use everybody: Steve Smith, Jason Avant, and Chad Hall is on the roster now. There is a possibility that he may be up but we don't know that yet."

On what has held Cooper back from making an impact in the offense this season: "Opportunity has held him back. He's done a nice job and I think he's made a big jump there in training camp and those first few weeks of the season. He's been impressive in the practices and the workouts."

On why he's optimistic that Vick will play: "He's a tough guy and wants to play. He's tough both mentally and physically. We'll see."

On whether he is worried that Vick's performance could be hindered by the injury as it was last Sunday: "No because I trust all of our players in every situation. You have to do that or you have very little. I'll say that when you're injured and playing, you have to play at a very high level."

On whether he knew that Vick was hurt: "I knew he was hurting just a little bit. I knew that. I didn't know that he had broken or fractured some of his ribs. I did not know that. During the game, I knew he was hurting a little bit but he worked right through it. It certainly did explain a few things."

On whether he calls plays differently when a quarterback is injured or struggling: "I've had some experience working with some great quarterbacks and the one thing that I've learned is, and it doesn't always work but a lot of the times it does, is that if you give them the opportunities, they're going to get it done. I was trying to get him in a rhythm just a little bit."

On what he saw from Vick that gave away that he's injured: "There were a couple of throws, but we didn't help him any. We've got to help him a little bit just like any other quarterback. We had five drops, and jeez, all of us have to do better there."

On where he draws the line as far as injured players playing: "Well Mike is so tough that he wasn't going to show any signs. That's a great mentality to have, but the communication is important, absolutely."

On whether WR DeSean Jackson has recommitted himself to the team: "Yeah, he's worked very hard in practice and in the classroom. I have no comment on that. Let's go play. Let's get our preparation and hard work done, and let's go play. That thing is over with and we move on."
