A LITTLE BIT OF SOUL IN THE LEHIGH VALLEY ...

Philadelphia Soul head coach Bret Munsey paid a visit to today's morning practice to get a look at some of the players and also to get a feel for how head coach Andy Reid runs practice.

"Every year we come out at least one or two times," said Munsey. "We'll talk to the scouts and coaches about certain players who are having a good camp, and we also like to see how they run things."

MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY

The Eagles hosted 300 members of the Armed Forces today. After the morning practice, the Armed Forces had a chance to meet Eagles players and coaches on the field. The Eagles mascot SWOOP and the Eagles Cheerleaders also made appearances.

PLAY OF THE DAY

During 11-on-11 red zone drills, QB Kevin Kolb fired a 15-yard pass to the back of the end zone to TE L.J. Smith, who made a miraculous one-handed grab while blanked by two defenders.

Smith worked hard this past offseason to keep himself in top physical condition, partaking in Russian Kettlebell training once a week under the direction of Carlos Bradley, a former Chargers and Eagles linebacker. "I could only do it one day per week. It's tough ...it's a total body workout."
