McCoy Backs Foles As The Eagles' Leader

Running back LeSean McCoy joined NFL Network's Total Access on Friday evening and was asked about the state of the Eagles' quarterback position heading into 2015 and more specifically whether or not Nick Foles could be the guy to lead the team.

McCoy unequivocally backed Foles, who is just one season removed from his historic Pro Bowl year.

"I like Nick. The person and player that everybody thought he was, he is. There were a lot of injuries this year, Nick, obviously got injured. He gets all of the blame and he shouldn't," said McCoy, who finished third in the league with 1,319 yards rushing in 2014. "I think Nick's a good quarterback. He's the leader of our team. Things just didn't work out for him this year due to injury, but we've got his back. As a team, we didn't play well enough to win and get into the playoffs."

Last season, Foles completed 59.8 percent of his passes for 2,163 yards with 13 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. Foles suffered a season-ending clavicle injury in the November 2 win in Houston. The Eagles were 6-2 in games Foles started in 2014 and 14-4 over the past two seasons. !
