Key Matchup: Kelce Vs. Ratliff

While it's hard to take your eyes off of the Eagles' magnificent skill-position players, here's an interesting matchup to watch this Sunday night when the Eagles take on the Cowboys - Eagles rookie center Jason Kelce against Cowboys All-Pro nose tackle Jay Ratliff.

"I think he's one of the great players in the game on the inside at tackle. Typically when you have one of the great players in the game, he has it all. He's got strength, quickness, speed, has all the techniques down, spin moves and he's a powerful man," offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said. "He's gotten after some guys, so we have quite a challenge there with our rookie center."

Ratliff has given the Eagles fits over the years. In fact, Ratliff has 6.5 career sacks against Philadelphia which is the most he's had against any team. He has one sack this season as he anchors the league's top run defense. But Ratliff is different than most nose tackles in that he is listed at "only" 287 pounds. Kelce joked that Ratliff might be the one defensive tackle that he outweighs all season long.

"He's a quick, athletic guy. Personally, I think I match up well with that. That's my skill set as well so it's going to be a battle in there," Kelce said. "I'm looking forward to playing against a guy who has obviously been a proven player in the NFL for a few years."

Mornhinweg added that Ratliff is so athletic that he could "probably play fullback."

As the league's top-ranked rushing offense battles the top-ranked rushing defense on Sunday, watch the battle right in the middle of the line because it could go a long way in determining who comes out on top.
