Josh McCown enters game briefly at quarterback for the Eagles, but Wentz returns

With 43 seconds remaining in the first half, quarterback Josh McCown entered the game for Carson Wentz. No official word from the team as to why, but Wentz was seen in the medical tent on the sideline. According to the NBC broadcast, Wentz was being checked for a concussion.

On the Eagles' second drive of the game, Wentz took a shot to the ribs from linebacker Deion Jones, but stayed in. Wentz was 6-of-15 for 47 yards and two interceptions when McCown came off the bench.

McCown came into the game for six plays before Wentz returned. McCown completed 3 of his 5 pass attempts for 24 yards, including a 13-yard pass to tight end Zach Ertz on a third-and-6. Wentz was on the field for one official play before Jake Elliott kicked a 41-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to cut the Falcons' lead to 10-6.

Making things more difficult for the Eagles is that all three starting wide receivers Nelson Agholor (concussion protocol), DeSean Jackson (groin), and Alshon Jeffery (calf), and tight end Dallas Goedert (calf) have been sidelined. Agholor returned in the second half.
