The Eagles have opened the practice window for cornerback Jakorian Bennett, who was placed on Injured Reserve after Philadelphia's Week 3 win against the Rams. Philadelphia also signed guard Sua Opeta, who spent five seasons with the Eagles, to the practice squad.

Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio has bounced between Adoree' Jackson and Kelee Ringo as the starting outside cornerback next to Quinyon Mitchell, and Bennett could enter the mix when he returns to game action. Jackson left last week's game with a concussion.

"That will be determined by practice," Fangio said on Bennett competing for a starting role. "He hadn't practiced. You can't practice when you're on IR, so once we open up his window and get him on the practice field, see where he is at, I can answer that better. But obviously, he's a guy we'll take a hard look at."

The Eagles traded for Bennett from the Raiders about a month before the season opener. Fangio said that he wasn't able to get a strong evaluation of Bennett due to the limited reps.

"Incomplete. I just never felt like I had a good handle on what he is and what he isn't," Fangio said. "I just don't think he played enough to answer that with definitive conviction."

Opeta signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Weber State in 2019 and played 38 games for Philadelphia, including making 10 starts. His most recent season with the Eagles came in 2023, and he signed with the Buccaneers in 2024 and 2025 but never appeared in a regular-season game.

Opeta was released by Tampa Bay on October 7 before signing with the Eagles, who had an open practice squad spot after releasing tight end Jaheim Bell. — Written by Matt Ryan
