The Minnesota Vikings are officially without their top two running backs as Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart are inactive due to injury. Peterson is out with a foot sprain and Gerhart is sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Second-year running back Matt Asiata is the starter, although he has all of three career carries and they all came in 2012. The Vikings promoted Joe Banyard from the practice squad on Saturday.
Peterson is far from the only starter out today for the Vikings as guard Brandon Fusco, tight end John Carlson and cornerback Chris Cook are also inactive due to injury. Rookie cornerback Xavier Rhodes and quarterback Josh Freeman are also inactive.
There were no surprises regarding the Eagles inactives. Safety Earl Wolff made the trip to Minnestoa and took part in pre-game warmups, but will sit another week due to his knee injury. Here are the rest of the inactives for the #Eagles: quarterback Matt Barkley, cornerback Curtis Marsh, running back Matthew Tucker, linebacker Najee Goode and offensive linemen Matt Tobin and Dennis Kelly.
