3 Questions With...

CB Sheldon Brown

12.jpg

Brown: "You can call it what you want. You can say what you want. It's not going to change until we continue to play better and play consistent. You can't jump out 14-0 and then lose emotion, lose momentum especially at home. There's no excuse."

Brown: "I can't tell you exactly when the momentum turned, but it shouldn't turn no matter what happens. When you're at home, you have to find a way to keep the crowd involved in the football game."

Brown: "You continue to fight. That's what training camp is, that's what offseason weight lifting and all of that stuff is for. I'm pretty sure everybody who became a champion once in their lifetime had to go through some adversity. It's time for everybody to go through that and step up. (Right now,) it's not good. The numbers are not good. Everyone is going to write us off. We'll see what kind of champions we have on our football team."*

Stat Speak

Here are some statistical notes through the first five games of the season:

*

Second-Half Woes ...The Eagles have scored only 38 of their 127 points in the second half, and just three of their 14 touchdowns. They haven't scored a second half touchdown since Week 2 in Dallas.

*

Team Defense ... After 145 yards from the Redskins' Clinton Portis and several noteworthy plays from Ladell Betts and Jason Campbell, the Eagles dropped from first to eighth against the run this season. The Eagles give up an average of 82.4 rushing yards per game.

*

WR DeSean Jackson ... Jackson has both the Eagles' second-longest reception (60 yards) and second-longest run (21 yards) of the season

*

WR Reggie Brown ... Since his return to playing full-time, Brown has been a bright spot and a favorite target for Donovan McNabb. He has 10 catches for 163 yards over the last two weeks.

*

LB Omar Gaither ... Gaither stays on the field for the Eagles' nickel packages, and he has responded with six passes defensed - second only to Asante Samuel's seven.

*

DE Juqua Parker ...Parker has benefitted from extra playing time and having Trent Cole down the line from him. He's recorded 3.5 sacks and six quarterback hits thus far.
