Philadelphia Eagles News

Head Coach Andy Reid

On injuries sustained during the game: "(RG) Max (Jean-Gilles) has an ankle (injury), and it's the opposite ankle than the one he had the surgery on. He's moving around okay right now, so we'll just see how he does in the next couple of days."

On the loss:"We look forward to the opportunity to play in the playoffs. It was great to get our young guys some snaps – a lot of snaps. We just ran out of gas at the end. I thought they battled and did some good things."

On whether QB Michael Vick could have played if needed:"There's a chance he could have."

On whether Vick will return to practice: "Yes."

On Vick watching the game from inside and not being on the sideline:"He did some rehab. He was out there in case we needed him in the four-minute situation at the end of the game if we needed him to take a direct snap under center with two quarterbacks out."

On facing the Green Bay Packers in the NFC playoffs: "We look forward to that challenge. They have a good football team and we have a good football team, so it should be a heck of a game."

On the play of QB Kevin Kolb:"I saw some good things, and there were some things that he'd tell you he needs to work on. Always keep in mind that he's going against their ones, and that's great work for him."

On his decision to rest some players today: "I've done this in the past. It gives me a chance to see some of the younger guys. It gives (some of our players) a week and a half rest, and it's not like we played last Sunday, although I probably would have done the same thing even if we had."

On the health of CB Asante Samuel and RB LeSean McCoy: "Everybody should be ready to go."

On whether MLB Stewart Bradley could return to play against Green Bay: "There's a chance on that. We just need to see how he does over the next couple of days."

On how QB Michael Vick feels health-wise:"He feels good. He had some swelling in the thigh, and he worked that out. He got a nice workout in today, and he felt pretty good. I'll have to see how he feels after the workout, but he went in and rehabbed, and I think he'll be fine."

On the play of rookie WR Chad Hall:"It looked like he did some good things out there. It's those kinds of players that you give an opportunity to get experience and reps, and so on. It helps you down the road."

On differences in the Eagles and Packers since their season-opening match-up:"Both teams are a little bit better than they were at that time. We'll just see how things go."

On the challenge of facing Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rogers: "Aaron's a heck of a quarterback. He's a tremendous athlete, and a good thrower."

On whether CB Dimitri Patterson will start next week: "We'll see how all of that works out."

On the challenge of facing a team in the playoffs that the Eagles previously faced during the regular season: "That was quite a while ago. I look at it like we're playing a good football team, and it's a great opportunity."

On the prospect of playing QB Michael Vick for four quarters in the playoff meeting with Green Bay after he only saw action following the injury to Kevin Kolb in the regular season match-up with the Packers: "We're going to do that. I'm not worried about the last game (against Green Bay). I have all of the energy going towards this (playoff game)."

On how he feels about the team heading into the playoffs:"I feel good about our team."

On whether the Eagles were able to scout the Packers this week: "We were able to look at a little bit of (film). The coaches took a peek at (the Packers) over the last couple of days."

On whether the fact that the Packers had to win today against Chicago presents an advantage to the Eagles: "(The Packers' game film against the Bears) is another game we get (to study). That's one way of looking at it."

On whether he will focus on the regular season match-up with the Eagles and Packers or focus more on Green Bay's recent games: "You go back and look at the game that you played against them. You're going to look at that and review it again. Then you take the last few games that they played and you put that into the mix."

On his philosophy of resting players once a playoff seed has been determined: "I think it's the right thing to do for us. Other people do it other ways, but that's what I believe in. It gives everybody an opportunity to rest up, in particular in the short amount of time that we have here."

On whether RG Max Jean-Gilles will be available to play on Sunday:"We'll see. I just saw him walking around (in the locker room). I have to go back in and see how he's doing. We might not know anything for a day or two, but we'll see."

On his decision to play starting WR Jeremy Maclin: "He needed 36 (receiving yards) to get to a 1,000 (for the season). That was something that was important to him, so we tried to get him the ball a little bit, but it didn't quite work out that way."
