Game Vs. Cowboys: Locker Room Defense

LB Brian Rolle

On containing the Cowboys' defense the entire game: "Well, we did. We didn't go out all aggressive, you know, wanting to blitz and everything. We didn't blitz the whole game. We just played tight coverage. That's something when you watch film against Dallas guys didn't do. It allowed (Cowboys TE) Jason Witten and (Cowboys WR) Dez Bryant to get open. What we did was lock down receivers and zone the whole game. Like I said, we didn't blitz and that allowed the front four to do their job and come up with great sacks and allow only seven points."

On how two sacks on the opening drive set the tone for the defense: "That's tremendous because they have a pretty good offensive line. Our (defensive line), they were relentless and that lets you know that the back end is doing their job. When we're locking down guys that allows the front four to go out and have fun. That's what they did."

On whether the defense is starting to gel together now: "Most definitely and you saw that two weeks ago with Washington. We made tremendous strides to where we wanted to be and this week it just showed how hard we worked during the bye week as well as this week to get prepared. I feel like we'll continue to get better and better and we'll be a force to be reckoned with."

CB Asante Samuel

On the comfort levels with the cornerbacks: "Yeah, I mean, I guess we're gelling together a little bit. That's (Eagles head coach) Andy (Reid's) motto, right? Come off the bye week, get a little streak going and play real well. We did that today."

On whether the defense is now doing what it's supposed to be doing: "Like I've been saying from the beginning, new (defensive) coordinator, new faces on defense and a new system. Everybody is just learning everything and gelling together. It seems like it's going pretty well."

On what message the Eagles sent to the NFL tonight: "The Eagles are back. The Eagles are back and we're ready to play Eagle Football. We did that on prime time so everybody could see. Hopefully we can use this as a motivation factor and keep going."

On whether this is the best game the team has played all season: "Yeah, I think it's definitely the best game – 34-7. We gave up seven points the last couple minutes of the game. It's unfortunate, but we got a big victory and we did a lot of good things out there today. It was really one of our good games today."

DE Jason Babin

On whether he missed DE Trent Cole badly in recent weeks: "Oh, he's a huge part of this team. He's a playmaker so it was definitely great to get him back. And we got (DE) Juqua (Parker) back so I'm feeling like we have the little posse together again."

On whether hitting QB Tony Romo twice on the first drive helped set the tone for the rest of the game: "Well, really the offense set the tone first. They put those points up and it was like, man. That's what d-linemen dream about, having those games where you'll score point after point after point and we get to rush the passer."

On how important it was to keep the momentum going early in the game: "I think our biggest thing was to keep (head coach) Andy's (Reid) streak alive after the bye-week. That's really all we cared about (jokingly)."

On his thoughts about the fans staying late into the game: "You know what, I tip my hat to the fans. I mean, they knew the game was over a long time but they stayed to the end because they wanted to see it. So you can definitely see the fans dedication to the Eagles."

On his thoughts about what message this win says to the rest of the league: "Well, we really just solidified it to ourselves. You know, this is what we can do when we do the right things and we don't make mistakes. The games we've lost we've done it to ourselves. And when we do the right things, beautiful things happen."
