Six straight touchdown drives for the 49ers after the first quarter helped them beat the Eagles on the road, 42-19.

"We didn't coach good enough. We didn't play good enough," Head Coach Nick Sirianni said. "You can't play that way and coach that way against a really good team."

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel found the end zone three times and quarterback Brock Purdy threw for four scores as the visitors piled it on.

"They got after us good today," Sirianni added.

The Eagles (10-2) lost for the first time at home this season. They now head to Dallas to take on the 9-3 Cowboys next Sunday night. The Cowboys are just one game back of the Eagles after beating the Seahawks on Thursday night.

Here is how the game unfolded:

First Quarter

  • FIELD GOAL! Jake Elliott nailed his 26-yard kick. The drive was led by a 38-yard reception on third-and-9 by A.J. Brown and an 11-yard gain on third down by Kenneth Gainwell. This was the first time since Week 8 that the Eagles failed to score a touchdown in the red zone. (Eagles 3 - 49ers 0)
  • SACK! Haason Reddick got home to take down Brock Purdy on second-and-10! The 49ers failed to convert on third-and-2 and had to punt.
  • FIELD GOAL! Elliott connected again, this time from 39 yards out. A costly slip in the backfield from Jalen Hurts moved the offense from the San Francisco 14-yard line to the 29-yard line. (Eagles 6 - 49ers 0)

"That was tough on us to start the game fast and be only up six points," Sirianni said.

Second Quarter

  • The 49ers finally make the Eagles pay with a 2-yard touchdown. Purdy found Brandon Aiyuk in the back corner of the end zone. The play went to review, but the call on the field was upheld. An offside penalty on Josh Sweat gave the 49ers another shot at the end zone on third down. (49ers 7 - Eagles 6)
  • The 49ers added to their lead with 38 seconds left in the half. Christian McCaffrey found a hole and squeezed into the end zone. (49ers 14 - Eagles 6)

"That's a tough team to tackle. ... A little bit uncharacteristic day for us," Sirianni said of the team's tackling."

It's a clash of two of the NFC's top teams as the 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles host the 8-3 San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of the 2022 NFC Championship Game. It appears that these squads are on another playoff collision course with the Eagles leading the charge in the NFC East and the 49ers comfortably ahead in the NFC West. The Eagles could clinch a playoff spot for a third straight season with a win and some help.

Third Quarter

  • The 49ers struck quickly on their first drive of the half. Deebo Samuel rushed to his right and found the end zone from 12 yards out. The visitors scored one play after a 33-yard pass on third-and-3 to McCaffrey. (49ers 21 - Eagles 6)
  • 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw was disqualified after striking Senior Advisor to the General Manager/Chief Security Officer Dom DiSandro, who was also ejected from the game.
  • TOUCHDOWN! For the 100th time in his career, Jalen Hurts found the end zone! The quarterback used the Brotherly Shove from the 1-yard line to score. Big catches by DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, as well as a personal foul penalty, aided to the success of the drive. (49ers 21 - Eagles 13)
  • Deebo Samuel broke free from the tackle attempt of Nicholas Morrow and hustled his way into the end zone for a 48-yard touchdown. (49ers 28 - Eagles 13)

Fourth Quarter

  • Hurts went to the locker room after spending time in the blue medical tent. He was evaluated for a concussion. He was briefly replaced on the field by Marcus Mariota.
  • Another missed tackle in the open field by the Eagles led to a 49ers touchdown. Jauan Jennings eluded Eli Ricks on the sideline and walked in for an 18-yard touchdown. (49ers 35 - Eagles 13)
  • Hurts came back into the game, replacing Marcus Mariota.
  • TOUCHDOWN! Hurts found DeVonta Smith for a 2-yard score, giving the Eagles a small lifeline. The two-point conversion attempt failed after Hurts' pass was batted down at the line of scrimmage. (49ers 35 - Eagles 19)
  • Samuel found the end zone again with a 46-yard touchdown reception. (49ers 42 - Eagles 19)
  • A fourth-and-12 attempt for the Eagles fell incomplete, giving the 49ers the ball back with just over two minutes left.
