Foot Contusion For Jackson; Vick Improving

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson left MetLife Stadium wearing a walking boot on his right foot after the Eagles' 17-10 win over the Giants. Head coach Andy Reid revealed on Monday that Jackson suffered a foot contusion early in the game. Jackson said after the game that his foot was stepped on. Reid noted that Jackson told the trainers about the injury at halftime.

That didn't stop Jackson from catching six passes for 88 yards and returning a punt 51 yards. He also had a 50-yard reception voided by a penalty. Reid said that Jackson's foot was sore and he was at the NovaCare Complex on Monday for treatment.

Quarterback Michael Vick continues to improve with his rib injury, but Reid noted that if the game was Monday he would not be able to play. Reid insisted that Vick is "day-to-day." If Vick can't play this Sunday against New England, Vince Young would make his second straight start.

Reid squashed any notion of a quarterback controversy by declaring that Vick will start when healthy. Reid does not want to rush Vick back and said that he is confident in Young and felt that way even before Sunday night's win. Vick called Young after the game to congratulate him on the win, Reid said.

Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is not expected to return to the lineup for "a while" because of his ankle injury, Reid said. Joselio Hanson will continue to play the nickel cornerback spot in the meantime. Reid praised Hanson's performance in that role on Sunday night against the Giants.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin is "getting better" and ran Monday morning, Reid said. Maclin missed Sunday's game with a shoulder and hamstring injuries.

Offensive lineman King Dunlap was out for Sunday night's game with a concussion and still has not passed the tests required to gain clearance to return.

Defensive end Brandon Graham was sidelined with a rib injury, but is "making progress," according to Reid. There is also swelling in his knee, which was injured late in 2010. Reid said that he wanted to give the knee rest.
