Eagles Up 45-7 Early In 4th

The Eagles extended their 31-7 halftime lead by a touchdown in the third quarter and enter the fourth quarter up 38-7 against the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football. We keep the description boring because words probably cannot do justice to the tenor of the action at Lincoln Financial Field.

More sacks on Panthers quarterback Cam Newton have given the Eagles defense seven on the night (edit: make that eight early in the fourth quarter).

The offense, meanwhile, continued to take advantage of opportunities, as a fumble forced by Brandon Graham on a sack split with Connor Barwin set the Eagles up on the Panthers' 30-yard line.

On the very next play, Mark Sanchez tossed the ball down the seam to tight end Brent Celek, who rumbled into the end zone for a touchdown. After review, however, Celek was ruled down inside the 1-yard line. No matter, LeSean McCoy would take the ball in for a touchdown on the very next play.

Thus far, Sanchez has moved the Eagles offense efficiently and has yet to turn the ball over. He is 19-of-35 for 314 yards, one touchdown and a 94.2 quarterback rating.

Edit: Sanchez led the Eagles to another touchdown early in the fourth quarter, capped by an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Matthews.
